Helpful HInts:

Back Up Your Data - Your data is usually the most important thing on your computer. Make sure you have a regular backup schedule, whether you back up to CD's, DVD's, External Hard Drive, Network Storage, or USB memory stick, just do it often.

Stay Up To Date - Update your system software often. Most modern operation systems have built in software update features. Make sure to use them. It will keep you updated, secure, and running smoothly.

Maintain Power - A surge or power spike can be devestating to electronic equipment. Most power strips do not protect very well against small surges or power spikes. Make sure to invest in a good surge protector that will protect against surges, spikes and drops in voltage. The best protection is a good battery backup system, prices are at their lowest and they will even give you a few minutes to save your work if the power goes out.

Feeling Sluggish? - Modern computers are very RAM hungry. If your computer feels slow and is not handling running multiple programs very well a RAM upgrad may be just the thing to get you moving at full speed.

Be Nice To Cables - Do not crimp or smash cables. This is especially important with AC adapters. Make sure that the ac adapter cable is not smashed up against a wall where it connects into the computer. This can damage both the cable and the computer.

Computers Can't Cough - Don't use your computer in a smokey environment or smoke around it. Computers have fans that will intake the air in the room. If there is smoke in the air that will get trapped inside and collect with dust, settling on the components and cloggin the fan. Over time this will cause overheating issues.

Computers Can't Swim - If any liquid is spilled in your computer unplug all power emmidiately including removing batteries (if applicable). Please bring your computer into the service department as soon as possible to avoid further damage. If you cannot make it into the service department let the computer air dry for 24 - 48hrs. Before attempting use. Do not use a heating device like a hair dryer as the heat produced can damage the internal components of your system.

Don't Drink & Compute - Spill damage is not covered under warranty and can be very costly to repair. To be safe do not have liquids or food around your computer (especially laptops).
